Andhra MP’s ‘objectionable’ video goes viral, Opposition demands suspension

A Member of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh, Gorantla Madhav, has found himself in the middle of a controversy after a purported video of him on a video call with a woman went viral.

The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows a man, purportedly the MP, top naked.

Gorantla Madhav is from Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).

After the video went viral, leaders of the opposition parties have demanded Gorantla Madhav’s suspension. The Opposition asked Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to take action against him and suspend him, demanding an enquiry.

“The behavior of YSRCP MPs, ministers, former ministers, MLAs and other party leaders is very disgusting. The YCP leaders are acting so disorderly,” former MLA and senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Bonda Umamaheswara Rao said.

“When the video of Madhav sexually abusing a woman is going viral on social media, he is shamelessly denying the fact,” Umamaheswara Rao claimed.

“Can another YSRCP MP Vijayasai now tweet not to take action against Mr Madhav?”, the TDP leader asked.

“As per the election affidavit, cases under Section 376, Section 302 and Section 506 are pending against Gorantla Madhav. We demand YSRC Party President Jagan Mohan Reddy should tell the people what action he is initiating against Mr Gorantla Madhav,” Umamaheswara Rao said.

However, YSRCP party general secretary and state government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy reacted to the allegations and said, “Enquiry is going on in this matter. If the video is proved to be original or unmorphed, then action will be taken against the MP.”

Meanwhile, Gorantla Madhav came down heavily on TDP leaders and said they hatched a conspiracy to defame him.
