Assertive foreign policy, fight against Covid: PM Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat coming in a book

From India extending help to over 150 countries in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic to the country’s assertive foreign policy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of self-reliance and resilience is coming in the form of a book.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) will release a collection of 86 speeches by PM Modi where he talks about inclusive development through collective trust.

The book — Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas : Prime Minister Narendra Modi Speaks (May 2019 – May 2020) — will be released by the Publication Division of the ministry on Friday at Rang Bhawan Auditorium, Akashvani Bhawan, New Delhi.

It focuses on 86 speeches by the Prime Minister from May 2019 to May 2020 on various subjects. The Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur, will be the host of the event. The Governor of Kerala, Arif Mohammed Khan, and former Vice-President, Venkaiah Naidu, will be present during the occasion.

The book is the epitome of the hope and aspirations of 130 crore Indians for building a New India through ‘Jan Bhagidari—Taking All Together’ for inclusive development through collective trust and resolve to achieve this vision.

Divided into ten thematic areas, these speeches reflect the PM’s vision for a ‘New India’.

These well-distributed sections are Aatmanirbhar Bharat: Economy, People-First Governance, Fight Against Covid-19, Emerging India: Foreign Affairs, Jai Kisan, Tech India-New India, Green India-Resilient India-Clean India, Fit India-Efficient India, Eternal India-Modern India: Cultural Heritage, and Mann ki Baat.

The book portrays the PM’s vision of a new India, which is self-reliant, resilient and capable of converting challenges into opportunities.

Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan is the mission started on May 13 2020, towards making India self-reliant. PM Modi announced an economic package of Rs 20 lakh crore as aid to support the country in times of pandemic. It is focussed on 5 components economy, infrastructure, systems, vibrant demography and demand.

PM Modi batted for people-centric governance and continuous effort towards good governance. He had directed all public offices to take schemes and reform initiatives to the intended beneficiaries rather than waiting for the people to come to them.

India had extended help to over 150 countries in the global fight against the Covid-19 pandemic by delivering medical equipment and facilitating the evacuation of Indians and other South Asians from virus hotspots. Further in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, India’s grass-root health system helped the country to ensure one of the best recovery rates from viral infection in the world, despite reporting a large number of daily coronavirus cases.

India pursued an assertive foreign policy aimed at demonstrating the country’s strength. The country has managed to balance several issues in the region. Further, despite mounting pressure from the West to take a stand on the Ukraine crisis or to support sanctions against Iran or Russia, India handled the situation in a measured manner.

The ministry said that the Prime Minister combines leadership qualities, visionary thinking, and foresight with excellent communication abilities to connect with masses through his exceptional oratory style.

The same is reflected in this book through his words like, “We had started with the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’; but with five years of constant dedication, the people have added another marvellous term to it, that is, ‘Sabka Vishwas’.”

It will be released in Hindi as well as English.
