Earthquake shakes Jammu and Kashmir, Andaman and Nicobar Islands

The earthquake jolted the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Jammu and Kashmir today between 3 and 4 pm.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 hit the Andaman and Nicobar islands on Monday at around 3:02 pm. According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake occurred 256 km southeast of Port Blair. The depth of the earthquake was 10 km.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 also hit Jammu and Kashmir today at around 4:07 pm. The epicenter of the earthquake is Fayzabad, Afghanistan.

According to the National Center of Seismology, the depth of the earthquake was 30 km. The earthquake occurred 187 km ENE of Fayzabad.

Initial reports state that no loss of life or no damage to the property has been reported yet in both the union territories.
